What is accreditation for child care?

Accreditation (at a national level) and Star Ratings (at a state level) are rigorous processes through which child care programs voluntarily demonstrate their commitment to meeting and maintaining high standards of education, quality, and school safety. These involve external assessment by national accrediting bodies and state agencies, evaluating factors like curriculum, teacher qualifications, safety protocols, and overall program quality. Achieving accreditation and gaining Star Ratings signify that a child care provider has gone above and beyond to ensure that they offer an environment that fosters the healthy development and well-being of the children they care for.

Who accredits child care schools?

We ensure all of our schools gain accreditation by either the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), or the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education (NAC). These national accreditation agencies ensure that schools across the country meet or exceed their rigorous and continuously evolving standards. At the state level, our schools are licensed and quality rated with Star Ratings from individual state agencies along the same categories and standards as the national level.
