Your school director will be happy to walk you through the specific policy for your school.

Can someone else pick up my child?

Your child’s safety is our top priority! Only authorized individuals listed on your child’s account may pick up your child. Anyone picking up will be asked to present a valid photo ID, and our staff will verify authorization before your child is released.

What curriculum does Childcare Network use?

Childcare Network uses the HighReach Learning Curriculum, a play-based, child-centered approach grounded in research on how young children learn best. Through hands-on exploration, discovery, and active engagement, children build curiosity, develop foundational academic and social skills, and cultivate a genuine love for learning that prepares them for long-term success in school and life. Skilled educators guide activities that balance structured lessons with self-directed play, always meeting children where they are developmentally.

What is the Science of Reading?

The Science of Reading is a research-backed approach to teaching children how to read. It draws decades of studies in literacy, cognitive science, and child development to identify the most effective ways to build reading skills. Rather than relying on guesswork or memorization, it focuses on five core areas: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. At Childcare Network, our curriculum is informed by these proven principles, giving children a strong literacy foundation from the very beginning.

What does child-led learning mean?

Child-led learning means following your child’s natural curiosity. There is still structure, routine, and expert guidance, but children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and discover answers at their own pace. Our teachers observe each child’s unique interests and tailor activities accordingly, creating a personalized learning experience that builds confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Will my toddler be grouped with older children?

At Childcare Network, children are always grouped with peers of their own age. Each age group has its own dedicated classroom with teachers who are specifically trained for that developmental stage, ensuring every child receives the right level of care, attention, and learning support throughout their day.

What supplies does my child need on their first day?

We want your child’s first day to feel exciting, not overwhelming! A few simple items will help set them up for a great day. Just make sure everything is labeled with your child’s first and last name.

  • All children: Two full changes of clothing
  • Infants: Diapers, wipes, and preferred milk if applicable
  • Toddlers and older children: A blanket for rest time

If you have any additional questions about what to bring, your school director is always happy to help!

Enrolling an infant? Check out our First Day Checklist for everything you’ll need to bring.

Do children go outside every day?

Yes! Weather permitting, children will enjoy outdoor time every day. We believe outdoor play is just as important as classroom learning. Our outdoor spaces are extensions of the classroom, where teachers plan purposeful activities like nature exploration, physical play, and other fun outdoor experiences.

Salud y seguridad

What is the child-to-teacher ratio?

All Childcare Network schools follow their local and state-mandated teacher-to-child ratios to ensure every child receives the attention and care they deserve.

How do you control building access and keep the school secure?

Your child’s safety is our top priority. Childcare Network schools use keyless entry systems that limit building access to authorized adults only. Upon entering, all visitors are required to sign in and provide a valid ID. Any authorized pickup person must be verified before being granted access to pick up your child.

Are there cameras in the classrooms?

Yes! Childcare Network schools are equipped with live feed cameras used by school administrators for classroom monitoring and staff training purposes.

What is your sick child policy?

We know it is never easy when your little one isn’t feeling well! We ask that children who are ill remain home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. This helps keep our entire school community healthy and safe. If your child becomes ill while at school, we will reach out to you right away to arrange pickup.

How does Childcare Network handle food allergies?

We take allergies seriously and work closely with families to keep every child safe. All allergies are documented during enrollment, and families are asked to provide any necessary medications along with completed medical authorization forms. We alert families if there are allergies in their child’s classroom so they can avoid packing anything containing the allergen. If food is brought into school for birthday celebrations or special occasions, it must be store-bought and in its original packaging to ensure it is safe for all children.

What formula or milk is provided for infants? Can I send breast milk?

Schools participating in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) provide formula, baby food, and ironfortified infant cereal to enrolled infants. Families who prefer to send breast milk or their own formula are welcome to do so. We ask that you send the milk in clean, sealed bottles labeled with your child’s first and last name, the contents, and the date. Bottles brought from home will be refrigerated and sent home at the end of each day if not used.

Does Childcare Network accept vaccination exemptions?

Vaccination requirements and exemption eligibility vary by state. If your state permits medical or religious exemptions, families are responsible for providing the required written documentation to their school. Please keep in mind that exemption standards differ by state, and not all requests may be approved. Your school director is happy to walk you through the specific requirements for your location.

What happens if my child needs medication during the day?

Medication can be administered with proper documentation and authorization from a parent or physician, depending on the type of medication. All medications must be in their original packaging. Your school director can guide you through the process.

Can I breastfeed or nurse my child at the school?

Yes, we fully support breastfeeding families. You are always welcome to nurse your child at our school. We will work with you to ensure you have a comfortable and calm environment during your visit. We encourage you to discuss your specific needs with your school director so we can best accommodate you. You may also refer to your Family Agreement for information on additional breastfeeding resources that may be available to you.

Family Partnership

How will I receive updates on my child's daily activities?

Staying connected to your child’s day is important to us! Once enrolled, families receive updates through our family engagement app, where teachers share photos and highlights from your child’s day, from meals and activities to milestones and all the special moments in between.

How do you report on my child's progress?

We believe your child’s growth is worth celebrating together! Every family is invited to two dedicated conferences per year, where you and your child’s teacher will:

  • Celebrate your child’s growth and achievements
  • Discuss their development across all areas of learning
  • Ask questions and set goals together for the months ahead

You are always welcome to request an additional conference at any time. Reach out to your school director and they will be happy to arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher.

What if my child is having a hard time adjusting?

Transitions can be emotional for children and parents alike, and we are here to support your family every step of the way! Our teachers are experienced in helping children feel safe and secure through consistent routines, comfort, and connections. If your child is having a difficult time settling in, we will work closely with you to understand their needs and find the best way to support them. A school director will be happy to discuss any concerns and help create a plan that sets your child up for a happy and successful experience with us.
